Nellie Mae (Alexander) Rigsby 1907-1984

Nellie Mae Rigsby was born in Alder Springs, Missouri, on January 25, 1907, the daughter of Melvin and Mary Bilyeau Alexander and passed away in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, on Monday evening, February 13, 1984. She had attained the age of 77 years.

She was united in marriage to Charles Rigsby on February 2, 1924 and unto this union two daughters and four sons were born. He preceded her on August 29, 1979.

She was a member of the Burnett Chuch and was baptized by Earl Jones in 1961. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held in the Long Gilbert Chapel on Thursday, February 16, 1984 at 11:00 am with Earl Jones officiating. Burial was in the Fox Crossing Cemetery under the direction of the Long Gilbert Chapel.

Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons.

She is survived by two daughters, Velva Jones and Patsy Fenton of Dixon, four sons, Ernest of Dixon; Robert of Bargersville, Indiana; and Paul and Jack of Nashville, Tennessee; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two brothers, Walter Alexander of Dixon and Wade Alexander of Marshfield; one sister Katie McKinnon of Dixon, with many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three grandchildren, James, Frank, and Ronnie, three brothers, Sherman, Louis, and Gordon Alexander, and three sisters, Maude, Emma, and Eunice Baker.
