Arthur L. Dye 1911-1986

Arthur L. Dye of Waynesville, Missouri, was born a son of Harley M. Dye, and Pearl (Berry) Dye on December 12, 1911 in Pulaski County, Missouri, and he departed this life at the age of 74 years, eight months, and 24 days.

On January 24, 1937, he was united in marriage to Jeretta Hudgens, and to this union four children were born.

He had accepted Christ and was baptized at a very early age, and at the time of his death was a charter member of the Harmony Baptist Church.

Arthur was a life-long resident of Pulaski County, Missouri.  He was a retired farmer from the Fairview community and he and his family had the honor of being chosen Farm Family of the Year several years ago.  He had pride and appreciation for his working years as a farmer.  He was loving and devoted to his family and friends, and he will be greatly missed by all of them.

Mr. Dye was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeretta; one daughter, Hazel Scherrer; also one infant brother and sister.  He is survived by two sons: Dannie of Waynesville, Missouri; and Frank of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one daughter, Helen Fleischer of Waynesville, Missouri; one sister, Marie Storie of Waynesville, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; also other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday, September 7, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. at the Harmony Baptist Church, under the direction of the Waynesville Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Bill Pringle, and Rev. Keith Miles officiating.

Music was provided by soloist, Iva Mae Case, and organist, Dorothy Moore.

Escorts were: George Berry, Bill Dye, Herman Dye, Roy Lee Dye, Charles Storie, and Tracy Storie.

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Laquey, Missouri under the direction of the Waynesville Memorial Chapel.

A memorial has been established to the Fairview Cemetery Fund.
