Freda Mae (Irvin) Shelden 1935-1986

Freda Mae Shelden was born in Dixon on September 9, 1935, the daughter of Thomas and Ellen Berry Irvin and passed away in the Boone County Hospital in Columbia on Monday, December 22, 1986.  She had attained the age of 51 years.

She is survived by her husband Paul, of the home in Fulton, 1 son Rick Johns of Rolla, her mother, Ella Irvin of Fulton, her sister Melba Lick of Dixon, 3 grandchildren, Adam, Travis, and Lindsay Johns with other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her father and 2 brothers, Carl and Donnie.

Freda was a member of the First Christian Church in Fulton.  She was a self-employed beauty operator and most recently the manager of radio KFAL in Fulton.

Funeral services were held in the Long Chapel in Dixon on Wednesday, December 24, 1986, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Raymond McCallister from the Christian Church in Fulton officiating.  Organist was Kathy Brandt and soloist was Hazel Schierbaum who sang “Amazing Grace” and “In The Garden”.  Serving as her pallbearers were Bud and Danny Shelden, Bobby Foster, Larry Irvin, Butch Lick, and Doyle Giesler.
