Arthur Monroe Atterberry 1913-1986

Arthur Monroe Atterberry of Waynesville passed away February 11, 1986.  He was born August 3, 1913 in Bloodland, Missouri, and had attained the age of 72 years, 6 months, 8 days.

Since November 1982, he had lived in the Tri-County Nursing Home in Richland, Missouri.

He was the son of William Jackson Atterberry and Mary Eugene (Gan) Atterberry.  On January 19, 1953 he was united in marriage to Nellie Perrine, who preceded him in death March 1981.  He is survived by six brothers: Wes of Eldorado Springs, Missouri; Floyd and Junior of Richland; Dale of Waynesville; Leonard of Buckhorn; and Jesse of Greenfield, Illinois; five sisters: Nancy Burton, Sapulpa, Oklahoma; Goldie Locke, Wayne City, Illinois; Grace Roam and Rosalee Mortensen of Richland; and Betty Hopkins, Buckhorn; and a host of nieces and nephews.

As a boy, Arthur attended Old Friendship Baptist Church.  He loved to hunt and fish.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Earl and Frances; four sisters: Elizabeth, Ollie Belle, Imogene, and Ina Delaney.

Funeral services were held Thursday, February 13, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. in the Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jack Southard officiating.  Music was provided by organist, Dorothy Moore, and soloist, Iva Mae Case.  Interment was in the Buckhorn Baptist Church, Waynesville, Missouri under the direction of the Waynesville Memorial Chapel.  Escorts were the Nephews.
