Claire T. Hammond 1977-1986

Claire T. Hammond, 9, of Route 2, Richland, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 1986 at Pulaski County Memorial Hospital after an accident at her home.

Born May 13, 1977, in Coos Bay, Ore., she was the daughter of William E. and Laura Gregory Hammond, of Richland.

She was a student at Laquey School in Laquey and was active in Girl Scout Troop 227 in Waynesville, the Junior Bowling League, the Hornet basketball team and the Angels softball league.

Visitation was held Thursday, October 15, 1986 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. in the Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Chaplain William F. Carey officiating.  Music was furnished by organist Dorthy Moore.

Services were held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, October 20 at St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church in Saratoga Springs, N.Y..  Burial followed at Dunning Street Cemetery in Malta, N.Y..

Survivors besides her parents, include two brothers, Christopher Hammond and Michael Hammond, both of Richland; maternal grandmother, Catherine McNinch, of Waynesville; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews in the Saratoga area.

The family suggest memorials to take the form of donations to the Memorial Fund of Girl Scout Troop 227, P.O. Box 224, Waynesville, Mo., 65583.

Arrangements were by the Tunison Funeral Home in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
