The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Howard officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today. Eastern Star memorial services will be held 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral.
She was born April 27, 1941 in Pulaski County, Missouri, a daughter of Clarence Everett and Bertha Fern Woody Mackney. She married John Frederick Protz in Crocker, Missouri, June 29, 1968. He survives.
Also surviving are a son, Kelly Lee at home; a daughter, Jennifer Joan, at home; her parents of Richland, Missouri; three brothers, Leonard E. Mackney of Saudi Arabia, Clarence E. Mackney of Jacksonville, Arkansas, and Everett of Medicine Lodge, Kansas; and one sister, Mrs. Fred (Mary) Posten of Richland, Missouri.
She was a member of the Central Christian Church in Charleston, a member and past conductress of the Aleah Chapter 389, OES in Lerna; Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem, Medinah Shrine 98, Taylorville; and was a past member of the Illinois Board of Realtors Association.
She had lived in Mattoon since 1968.
