Clara Verena (Tanner) Hill 1901-1986

Clara Verena Hill, daughter of Joseph and Annie Mae Manes Tanner, was born February 18,1901 at Laquey, Missouri and departed this life February 23, 1986 in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 85 years.

As a young girl Clara professed her faith in Jesus Christ, was baptized and became a member of the Idumea Baptist Church.  She later moved her membership to the Grace Baptist Church, in Richland.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, five brothers: Howard, Joe, Hubert, Virgil, and Ernest; one infant brother Benny; and one infant sister Lima.

Those surviving include two sisters: Lorene Clutts of Shawnee, Oklahoma; and Nettie Hill of Richland; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 25, 1986 at 10:00 a.m. at the Idumea Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Randolph officiating.

Music was provided by Rusty Shadel, soloist, and DeLores Shadel, organist.

Burial was in the Idumea Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Chapels.

Escorts were: Lyndal York, Richard York, Kenny Nickels, James McKinnon, Gary Humphrey, and Herman Murray.
