WAYNESVILLE- Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Moss-Williams Chapel here for William Allen Miller, 41, St. Robert, who died about 1 a.m. Saturday.

A funeral home spokesman said Miller apparantly took his own life. Pulaski County Coroner C.E. Moss said there would be no inquest. The Rev. Bill Elam will officiate with burial in Rolla.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy Jeanette; a daughter, Melinda Kay, Chaffee; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Miller, of the home; and a brother, Jesse, Carbondale, Ill.

Danny Sylvester Miller d. March 27, 1952

Danny Sylvester Miller, 84, of Big Piney, died at Waynesville March 27 and was buried in the cemetery of the Hopewell Baptist Church Sunday afternoon.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Daisy E. Helton of Palace, Mrs. Maude O. Nickels of Lakeway and Mrs. Josephine Helton of Plato; three sons, Dr. Clyde S. Miller of Waynesville, Richard W. of Bassville, and Jack N. of Glendale, Calif.; two sisters and 14 grandchildren.

Della (Bryant) Miller 1901-1986

Della Miller was born on August 9, 1901 near Dixon the daughter of George and Mary Rigsby Bryant and passed away in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla on December 5, 1986.  She had attained the age of 85 years.

She is survived by 1 granddaughter Darlene Sosnoff of Maryland Heights, 3 grandsons, Dan Fulton of Hazelwood, Darren Fulton of Sunset Hills and Dana Fulton of Barnhart, her son-in-law, Billy Dean Fulton of Barnhart, 4 great-grandchildren, Kari and David Sosnoff and Tracie and Todd Fulton.  She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Ray Miller in 1964 and her daughter Mary Jean Fulton in March 1970.

Della lived many years in the Frank Switch community and the last 3 years in the Cedar Knoll Nursing Home in St. James.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held in the Long Funeral Home on Sunday, December 7, 1986 at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Kevin Martin officiating.  Organist was Kathy Brandt.  Burial was in the Pisgah Cemetery.  Serving as her pallbearers were Dan, Darren, Dana, Billy and Lloyd Fulton and Don Light.

Elmer Workman, Jr. 1921-2003

Elmer Workman, Jr., son of Elmer Workman, Sr. and Eula Mae Miller Workman, was born in Richland on April 7, 1921 and departed this life March 4, 2003 in Richland.

In 1940 he was united in marriage with Loretta Wall and to this union were born three children.
He attended and graduated from Richland High School in 1939. He had been a member of the American Legion Post #240 for 51 years.
Elmer served his country with the United States Air Force from May 1943 to September 1945 attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He served with the 306th bombardment group, was a decorated World War II veteran, receiving the Air Offensive Europe Campaign with three bronze stars, two Air Medals with five oak leaf clusters, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a waist gunner on a B17, flew thirty five missions, was shot down over France, rescued by local residents and taken to safety in England.
In 1945, Elmer and Loretta opened a restaurant called Elmer's G.I. Drive-In. In 1946 he went into the used car business and continued this venture for over 50 years, buying cars in St. Louis and selling the majority of them at the 166 Auto Auction in Springfield. Elmer was a very generous man with his employees and customers. Many who bought cars and couldn't pay for them were never asked to bring them back, he just took the loss.

In 1951 he was called back to active duty during the Korean Conflict. The restaurant was then sold to his brother Ronald Workman and renamed Workman's Restaurant.

Those surviving include his one son, Coy Workman and wife Iva Nell of Richland; two daughters, Leah Helms and husband Dennis of Richland, and Lana Dunham of Waco, Texas; one sister, Norma Jean Johnson of Richland; a sister-in-law, Opal Workman of Richland; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; faithful dog Mickey; other relatives and friends.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Kate Workman; one brother, Ronald Workman; one son-in-law, Fred Dunham; and one brother-in-law, Robert Johnson.

Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2003 at Colonial Chapel, Richland, with Minister Bob Leinbaugh officiating. Escorts were Gilbert Whitham, Robert Holloway, Robert Decker, Larry Baranowski, Larry Dale Powers and Bill Decker, Jr. Honorary Escorts were Buck Hooker, Dick Flynn, Floyd Miller, Toot Smith, Bud Trower, Pete Wilson, Carl Tanner, Don Tanner, Roy Henry, Dick Smith, Harold Johnson and Floyd Rainey. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Ida Hazel (Jennings) Miller 1910-1986

Ida Hazel Miller was born on May 1, 1910 in Maries County near Dixon the daughter of William and Amelia Wyss Jennings and passed away in the Columbia Regional Hospital on Aug.21, 1986. She had attained the age of 76.

She was united in marriage to Ralph Miller on May 21, 1927 and unto this union 2 sons and 2 daughters were born.

Ida accepted Christ as her personal Saviour when she was young and was baptized in the Methodist Church.

Ida is survived by her son Billy Miller of Granite City, Illinois, 2 daughters, Donna Conley of Devils Elbow, and Louise Wilson of Rolla, 1 brother Emmett Jennings of Woodriver, Illinois, 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph on Oct. 10, 1983, 1 son Clifford, 4 brothers, 1 sister and 1 grandson. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Donna Marie (Miller) Greer 1945-2004

Donna Marie (Miller) Greer, daughter of the late Murrell and Valera (Holliday) Miller, was born January 18, 1945 in Conway, Missouri where she grew up and attended school. Donna accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized at an early age.

On June 6, 1970, Donna was united in marriage to Cecil Greer. They were blessed with three daughters: Melody, Melissa and Amanda and shared over 34 years of marriage.

Donna worked at Fort Leonard Wood as a supervisor in the I.D. card facility and enjoyed her time there. She was employed as civil service from the late 1960's until her retirement in 2003.

Donna enjoyed collecting antiques, traveling and taking pictures of her family and friends. Most importantly, she loved her grandchildren and treasured the times that she could spend with her family and friends.

Donna went home to be with her Lord the morning of Monday, October 4, 2004 at her home with her loving husband Cecil by her side at the age of 59 years, 8 months and 16 days.

Donna will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by her husband, Cecil of the home; three daughters: Melody Yankey and her husband, Scott of St. Peters, Melissa Polson and her husband, Justin of Lebanon and Amanda Crider and her husband, Scott of St. Robert; two brothers: Billy Miller and his wife, Gladys of St. Charles and David Miller and his wife, Pat of Maryland Heights; two sisters: Genevieve Bilger and her husband, Floyd of Conway and Carolyn Leib and her husband, Roy of Leigh High Acres, Florida; three grandchildren: Shelby, Nathan and Amber and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 6, 2004 in the Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Rev. Danny Graves officiating. The songs "Rivers of Memories", "Beautiful", "May An Angel Sleep On Your Pillow Tonight", and "If We Never Meet Again" were performed by Bill Clifton and Jimmy Gaudreau. Serving as escorts were Clarence Greer, Ervin Greer, Mike Greer, Tom Greer, William Greer and Mike Liebig.

Burial followed in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.

Gladys (Rose) Page 1911-2005

Gladys Rose Page, daughter of Milam Rose and Margaret (Miller) Rose was born November 9, 1911 at Mossy Spring near Waynesville, Missouri.

Gladys was a life long resident of Pulaski County. She attended school and made her home near Waynesville.

On January 25, 1932 Gladys was united in marriage to Robert Franklin "Jack" Carroll and to this union three children, James Richard, Jackie Wayne and MaryAnn were born. Gladys later married Silas Hamilton on March 18, 1959. Silas preceded her in death on December 29, 1976. Gladys married Joe Page on November 20, 1982.

Gladys owned and operated the Carroll Cabins in Waynesville for many years.

She loved spending time outdoors. She took great pride in her flower and vegetable gardens. She also enjoyed spending time fishing and sewing.

Gladys departed this life Sunday afternoon April 17, 2005 in the Life Care Center of Waynesville at the age of 93 years.

Gladys is survived by one daughter: MaryAnn Formy-Duval of Springfield, MO; one son: Richard Carroll of Waynesville, MO; three sisters: Wanda Adkins of Waynesville, MO, Helen Berquist of San Jose, CA and Wilma Kieth of San Diego, CA; three brothers: Everald Rose and Marvin Rose, both of Dixon, MO and John Rose of Indianapolis, IN; six grandchildren: Frankie, Jason and Jimmy Carroll, Brian Formy-Duval, Angela Jacobs and Markey Carroll; eleven great grandchildren: Jimmy, Andrew, Hunter, Alyssa, Duston, Jackie, Shaylee, Kayla, Kinley. Gavin and Rachel; several other relatives and friends also survive.

She is preceded in death by her husband Silas, her parents, her son, Jackie, two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Joyce Carroll, five siblings, Drew Rose, Pearl Rose, Della Rose, Ruth Rose and Dorothy Williams.

Graveside services were held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 21, 2005 in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Richard Breeden officiating. Janet Sands, niece of Gladys, gave a beautiful eulogy. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.

Wanda June (Rose) Adkins 1927-2008

Wanda June Adkins, daughter of the late Milan and Margaret (Miller) Rose, was born March 21, 1927 in Dixon, Missouri where she grew up. Wanda attended Needmore School from grades 1-8 and had to walk 3 miles each way in order to attend. She later lived with her sister, Gladys, and graduated from Waynesville High School. As a young child, Wanda accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized.

On July 7, 1945, Laurence was united in marriage to Wanda June Rose at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis, Missouri. They shared over 62 wonderful years of marriage together and were blessed with three children: Duane, Doug and Janet. Laurence preceded Wanda in death on January 3, 2008.

Wanda was a woman who worked hard and took great pride in helping to provide for her family. She was employed for 20 years at the Department of the Army Quartermaster Corp. In her spare time, she loved to cook and plan enormous family Christmas celebrations that brought her great joy. She enjoyed planting flowers, gardening, fishing, canning vegetables and making jelly. She treasured the times that she could spend with her grandchildren. After her family, Wanda loved going to church. She was a very active member of the First Christian Church of Waynesville while her health permitted her to do so and she greatly valued the friendships of her church family. Wanda was also previously a member of the Waynesville/St. Robert Lioness Club.

Wanda went home to be reunited with her Lord and Laurence at 4:45 a.m. Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Sunset Village of the Ozarks of St. Robert at the age of 80 years, 11 months and 10 days.

Wanda will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by three children: Duane Adkins (Tammy) of O'Fallon, MO, Doug Adkins (Debra) of Richland, MO and Janet Sands (Charles) of Waynesville, MO; five siblings: Everald Rose and Marvin Rose both of Dixon, MO, John Rose of Indianapolis, IN, Helen Berquist of Saratoga, CA and Wilma Keeth of Paradise, CA; five grandchildren: Duke Adkins, Kimberly Adkins, Michelle Woody, Rebecca Johnson and Kyla Birdsong; three step-grandchildren: Chelsea, Aron and Brandon Taylor; six great grandchildren: Wayland Adkins, Roy Woody, Fred Johnson, Lakeysha Johnson, Duane Woody and Brandon Moore; one great-great grandson: Braden Moore and Wanda was eagerly awaiting the arrival of another great-grandson, Kaiden Birdsong; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Wanda was preceded in death by four sisters: Gladys, Della, Ruth and Dorothy; and two brothers: Pearl and Drew.

Michael Anthony “Foot” Miller d. 3 April, 2011

Michael Anthony “Foot” Miller, 47 of Richland, MO, passed away at 6:20 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2011 in his home.

Private family services will be held at a later date and are under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland.

Mr. Miller is survived by his brother and caretaker: Jerry Miller of the home; two more brothers: Bobby Miller (Connie) of Oskaloosa, KS and Eddie Miller of Lawrence, KS; five sisters: May Miller, Mary Ogle (Jim Strohkirch), Jeannie Decker (Robert) all of Richland, Loretta Harmon of Waynesville, MO and Gail Pickens (Luther) of Olatha, KS; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mike Miller and may be left at the funeral home.

Esther Florance (Belton) Gray 1918-2010

Esther Florance Gray, of Devil's Elbow, formerly of Brentwood, was born on April 3, 1918, at Dixon, a daughter of Alfred and Dora (Miller) Belton, and departed this life at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 16, 2010, at her residence in Devil's Elbow. Mrs. Gray had attained the age of 92 years, 4 months and 13 days.

Mrs. Gray was united in marriage on June 10, 1949 at Mountain Home, Arkansas to Mr. Edward Lee Gray and they were blessed with two children. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Juanita Van Huss; her parents; one brother, Richard Miller and three sisters, Gertrude Vest, Connie Howser and Rosie Gage.

Mrs. Gray accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior in 1954 and was a member of the Mattise Baptist Church, St. Louis for several years and then moving her membership to the Southside Baptist Church, St. Louis, where she served as President of the Women's Missionary Union. After moving to Devil's Elbow she attended Sheppard Baptist Church near Dixon. She was a loving and devoted housewife and mother for all her working life.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Gray include: her husband, Edward Gray, of the home in Devil's Elbow; one son, Mark Edward Gray, St. Louis; five grandchildren, Veronica, Bradley, Kelsey, Stephanie and Jamie; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Gray at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 21, 2010 in Dixon Chapel of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes with Bro. Bill Affolter, Maplewood Baptist Church, officiating. George Sneed sung "I've Got A Mansion" and "Peace In The Valley" for the funeral service.

Interment was in the Dry Creek Cemetery near St. Robert under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearer for Mrs. Gray were Bradley Gray, Charlie Gray, Adam Rodabaugh, Lonnie Young, Ralph Rodabaugh and Monroe Rodabaugh.

Expressions of sympathy are suggested by the family to the American Cancer Society with envelopes at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home, Dixon.

Joyce Dianne Miller 1946-1955

Joyce Dianne Miller, 8, of the Laquey community near here, died yesterday at Waynesville General Hospital, Waynesville, Mo.
She was born in Pulaski county, Oct. 11, 1946, the daughter of Marion and Dorothy Miller. In addition to the parents, she is survived by one brother, Ronnie Miller, Laquey; and the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Grover Bollinger, Laquey.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Saturday at the Buckhorn Baptist Church near here with the Rev. Earnest Cox officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery here.

Pauline Foote 1965-1990

Pauline Foote, daughter of Alva and Lela Marie Miller Foote, was born July 4, 1965, in Waynesville, Missouri, and departed this life May 26, 1990, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of twenty-four years, ten months, and twenty-two days.

Pauline graduated in 1983, after attending Laquey School for twelve years. She worked at the H.D. Lee Factory in Richland since 1984.

She is survived by her son, Matthew Stephen, of the home; her father Alva Foote, Laquey, Missouri; two brothers, Cecil Foote, Lebanon, Missouri, and Eddie Foote, Richland, Missouri; two sisters, Charlene Foote, Plato, Missouri, and Annette Farias, Laquey, Missouri; her grandfather, Edward Miller, Richland, Missouri; two aunts, Evelyn Davis, Richland, Missouri, and Belle Scott, Laquey, Missouri; as well as other relatives and a host of friends.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Lela Marie Foote; her maternal grandmother, Louise Miller; and her paternal grandparents, Paul and Erdis Foote.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

David Edward Jennings 1967-1990

David Edward Jennings was born in Teheran, Iran, on September 18, 1967, the son of John David and Pamela Miller Jennings, and passed away as a result of an accident on June 6, 1990. He had attained the age of 22 years.

David graduated from high school in Crocker in 1985, and had attended CMSU, being a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon. He was working for the Lodge of the Four Seasons.

He is survived by his mother, Pamela Jennings of Crocker, three sisters, Kathy Jennings of the home, Cindy Jennings of Russellville, Arkansas, and Elizabeth Ann Jennings of Louisiana, his grandparents, Patricia Donaldson of Georgetown, Ohio and Bess Jennings of Clinton, Arkansas, with aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services were held in the Long Funeral Home Crocker on Saturday, June 9, 1990, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Lee Todd officiating. Burial was in the Bethany Cemetery. Serving as his pallbearers were Ricky Gibson, Jay Danielson, Steve Moore, Mike Smith, Dean Dochterman, and Billy Bivens.

James Ralph Miller 1902-1985

James Ralph Miller was born a son to William T. and Ida Mae (Godfrey) Miller on March 25, 1902 at Richland, Missouri and he departed this life on March 19, 1985 at Sunset Village of the Ozarks, having attained the age of 82 years, 11 months, and 24 days.

As a young man, Ralph was baptized and joined the Idumea Baptist Church. He later moved his membership to the Friendship Baptist Church at Fort Leonard Wood.

On February 26, 1922, Ralph was united in marriage to Delphia Elizabeth York and to this union two daughters were born, one passing away in infancy.

Besides his daughter, Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother, two sisters, one granddaughter, and one great granddaughter.

Survivors include a sister: Edith Broemeiser of Godfrey, Illinois; a daughter: Nancy Myers of Laquey, Missouri; two grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 22, 1985 at 10:00 a.m. in the Waynesville Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Haskell Orrick officiating.

Music was provided by Dr. Keith Miles, soloist and Marjorie Link, organist.

Serving as escorts were: Irdart Brady, Ora Lee Brady, Dale Davenport, Larry Sisk, and Richard York.

Serving as honorary escorts were: Danny Graves and Roger Higgins.

Burial was in the Deerlick Cemetery under the direction of the Waynesville Memorial Funeral Chapel.

Florence Eddie (Scott) Smith 1911-1984

Florence Eddie Smith of Cape Fair, Missouri, formerly of Richland, was born October 7, 1911 to Charles and Matilda Scott of Richland, and departed this life September 22, 1984 in Springfield, Missouri.

She was united in marriage to Cecil Miller in 1929 and to this union was born two sons. Cecil preceded her in death in 1946. She later married Arthur Fritts who passed away in 1971. She then married Jack Smith, who survives.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the Baptist Church. She worked for International and Brown Shoe Factories, retiring in 1971, after 22 years of service.

She is survived by her husband Jack of the home; two sons: Leonard of Grove, Oklahoma and daughter-in-law LaVaughn, and Larry of Waynesville and daughter-in-law Mary Ann; three grandchildren Eddie, Willie, and Cris Ann Miller of Waynesville; one step-son, Dale Fritts of Richland; seven step-grandchildren; two brothers: W.H. Scott of Richland, E.W. Scott of Montreal; one sister: Elizabeth Oursbourne of Stoutland; her mother, Mrs. Matilda Scott of Richland; a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father and two sisters and one brother.

Services were held Tuesday, September 25, 1984 at 10:30 a.m. at Colonial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Norman Sanders officiating.

Music was provided by Rusty Shadel, soloist and DeLores Shadel, organist.

Escorts were: Douglas Oursbourne, Ralph Gideon, Raymond Scott, Dale Fritts, Lynn Oursbourne, and Tony Crismon.

Burial was in the Beulah Cemetery.

James Dorsey Haley 1900-1984

James Dorsey Haley was born in Bloodland, Missouri on November 23, 1900, the son of James and Elizabeth Miller Haley and passed away in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla on April 30, 1984. He had attained the age of 83 years.

He was united in marriage to Maude Kinnaird on February 20, 1924 and unto this union four daughters and two sons were born. She preceded him in death on December 27, 1978. He later married Amanda Blanton, who survives.

He was a member of the Carpenters local NO. 417 of St. Louis for over 30 years, retiring with the gold card of continuous service.

Funeral services were held in the St. Theresa Catholic Church in Dixon on Thursday morning, May 3, 1984 with Father Rissinger officiating. Burial was in the Palace Cemetery in Place, Missouri. Burial was in the Palace Cemetery in Palace, Missouri.

Serving as pallbearers were Jim amd Greg McGee, Ron Simpson, Jack Haley, Davis Nix and Robbie Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda of the home, two sons, Dorsey of St. Peters and Eugene of Overland, Missouri; four daughters, Thadene Knollmeyer Haley of St. Louis, Bernadine Egerer of St. Charles, Alatha Blankenship of Overland and Janette Conaway of Florissant, Missouri; two stepdaughters, Martha Alexander and Marie Roberson of Dixon; three brothers, Lloyd of House Springs, Lawrence of St. Ann, and Willard of Villa Ridge, Missouri; three sisters, Cora Pinager and Nora Elrod of Jefferson City and Ruth Haley of St. Louis; 24 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, with other relatives and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Everald Rose 1922-2009

Everald Rose, of rural Dixon, was born on August 4, 1922, in Pulaski County, a son of Milam and Margaret Ellen (Miller) Rose, and departed this life at 8:56 A.M., on Sunday, June 28, 2009, in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla, following a brief illness. He had attained the age of 86 years, 10 months, and 24 days.

Mr. Rose was united in marriage on February 10, 1944, at St. Louis, to the former Miss Betty May VanMeter, and to this union, seven children were born. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Ellen Sue Rose on October 30, 1951; his father in 1971; his mother in 1959; two brothers, Andrew Rose in 1970; and Pearl Rose on March 27, 1997; five sisters, Gladys Page in 2006; Della Jane Rose in 1934; Ruth Rose in 1934; Wanda Williams on March 2, 2008; and Dorothy Williams in 2004.

He was a member of the Gasconade Baptist Church near Dixon and had accepted Jesus Christ as his Personal Saviour and followed his Lord in baptism early in life. In earlier years, he had been employed by Emerson Electric Company, St. Louis. Mr. Rose was a construction worker during the building of Fort Leonard Wood in 1938 and 1939. In 1963, he went to work for Pulaski County as a Road Grader Operator and worked in that position for 25 years until his retirement in 1988. Mr. Rose was also a life long farmer in Pulaski County.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Rose include: his wife, Betty Rose, of the home near Dixon; three sons and daughters-in-law, J.R. and Kay Rose, St. James; Ralph and Mila Rose, Green Castle; and Roger and Ellen Rose, Dixon; three daughters and one son-in-law, Gloria Bryant, Bruce, Mississippi; Frances Johnson, Waynesville; and Susie and Gary Davis, Dixon; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Marvin and Loretta Rose, Dixon; and John Rose, Indianapolis, Indiana; two sisters, Helen Berquist, Saratoga, California; and Wilma Keeth, Paradise, California; sixteen grandchildren; Tonya Rose, Mary Sue Ray, Betty Jo Rose, Angie Lackin, Andie Ridenhour, Brian Rose, Cheryl Lumbard, Ryan Rose, Betty Jean Bryant, Tim Johnson, Kevin Davis, Jamie Davis, Michael Davis, Joey Davis, Danny Davis, and Anthony Rose; two step-grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Rose were conducted at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 1, 2009, in the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes with the Rev. Timothy Blackwell, First Pentecostal Church, Vichy, officiating. Three musical selections, “The Old Rugged Cross”, “Candle In the Wind”, and We’ll Never Have To Say Goodbye Again”, were played for the funeral service.

Interment was in the Gasconade Cemetery near Dixon under the direction of the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Pallbearers for Mr. Rose were Tim Johnson, Brian Rose, Kevin Davis, Jamie Davis, Michael Davis, Joey Davis, Danny Davis, Anthony Rose and Ed Jenelowicz.

Cora Ann (Miller) Lane 1873-1958

Mrs. George W. Lane, Sr. Succumbed At Hospital Here, Funeral Yesterday

Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon in the First Baptist Church for Mrs. George W. Lane, Sr., who passed away Monday at Waynesville General Hospital, where she had been a patient for the past ten days.

Mrs. Lane was a member of a pioneer Pulaski County family, having been born at Big Piney, Missouri, almost eighty-five years ago. She had spent her entire life in this county except for a few years she resided in Jefferson City when her husband, the late George W. Lane, Sr., was a representative of Pulaski County in the Missouri House of Representatives. Mr. Lane passed away about two years ago.

Mrs. Lane was one of the best loved ladies of this county and by her gracious and friendly attitude made friends wherever she went. The large crowd which attended the services attested to the respect and love of her host of friends. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church for many years and was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

The Rev. John L. Hicks, who had at one time been her pastor and who was a lifetime friend of the family, made a few remarks at the services. The Rev. B.R. Tatom delivered the funeral services, which was followed by a short funeral service by members of the Order of Eastern Star. The pallbearers were Ewell Johnson, Sterling Rollins, James Laughlin, Byron Eldredge, Leslie A. Smith, and LeClair Long.

John Tice Miller 1840-1932

John T. Miller, an aged and long time resident of this vicinity, passed away at his home southeast of Crocker Saturday at the age of 92 years, 2 months and 13 days. He was united in marriage to Mary Douglas, July 30, 1875, and to this union seven children were born, all of whom survive him. They are Mrs. S. B. Neander of Swedeborg, Mrs. Wood Carver of Waynesville, Mrs. Len Peterson, Walter and William of Rockport, Ill, Robert of St. Louis, and Everett of Crocker. He also leaves a daughter by a former marriage, Mrs. Mary Manes of Swedeborg. He also leaves two brothers and one sister besides other relatives and a host of friends to mourn his passing.
Mr. Miller united with the Baptist church at an early age and remained firm in that faith until death. He was a veteran of the Civil War, enlisting April 5, 1861, and was discharged October 31, 1865, after more than four and one-half years in the union army.
Funeral services were conducted at the Crocker cemetery Sunday afternoon by Rev. Chas. H. Moneymaker, with the local Legion Post assisting.

Cora Belle Booker Dies At Age 62 Years, Was Mother Mrs. Elsie Martin

Cora Bell Booker, daughter of W.M. and Delitha Miller was born April 23, 1888 near Crocker, Missouri and departed this life November 28, 1950, making her age at time of death 62 years, 7 months and five days.

She was united in marriage to Willet Booker August 13, 1907. To this union eight children were born. Elsie Martin, Waynesville, Missouri, Tess Booker, Salem, Missouri, Frank Booker, Licking, Missouri, Goldie Miller of Saginaw, Michigan, Bessie Clark of Crocker, Missouri, Fred Booker of Licking, Missouri, Edna Hilbrenner of Licking, Missouri, and Albert (Jack) Booker, who is in the armed forces, and is stationed in Granite City, Illinois.

Mr. and Mrs. Booker lived near Devil’s Elbow, Missouri until about eight years ago when they moved to a farm near Hazelton, Missouri, where they spent the rest of their married life.

Mrs. Booker was a kind and loving wife and mother. She was a good neighbor and loved by all who knew her. She had been in failing health for several years and about a week ago she had a stroke, which was the cause of her death.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband and eight children, six sisters, and two brothers, twelve grandchildren and a host of other friends and relatives.

Her faith was holiness and she said some time ago that she was ready to meet her Lord. Her father, mother, five sisters
