Henry Elmer Farley 1916-1990

Henry Elmer Farley, 73, died Monday, July 9, at the Charles E. Still Hospital in Jefferson City. He was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on October 19, 1916, the son of Edward and Lillian Larson Farley.

He married Sara Smutz on December 2, 1942.

Mr. Farley is survived by his wife, Sara, of the home; one brother Eddie Farley of Wisconsin and one sister, Betty Maki of Ohio, and nieces and nephews.

After serving in the Army during World War II, he attended Westminster College in Fulton graduating in 1949. He was a charter member of the Crocker Lions Club, serving as secretary and zone chairman and District Governor in 1988-89. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, American Legion, and V.F.W. in Crocker.

Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian Church in Crocker on Wednesday, July 11, 1990, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Wade Ditty officiating. Burial was in the Crocker Memorial Park Cemetery. Serving as his pallbearers were Charles Lamb, Leroy Gumm, Dr. John Mihalevich, Larry Salveter, Ed Bober, and Delbert Schneider.

A memorial has been set up in the name of Henry Farley. Envelopes may be picked up at the funeral home.
