Nicholas Dewaine Michael 1950-2009

Nicholas Dewaine Michael, son of the late William Thomas Michael and Nellie Louise (Lathrom) Stoll, was born June 30, 1950 in Mtn. Grove, Missouri. As a young teen, Nick and his family moved and he graduated from Richland High School in 1968.

As a young man, Nick enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country faithfully until his honorable discharge. He received several awards and commendations.

For the majority of his working years, Nick was employed with Detroit Tool as a painter. He was a faithful employee and worked for them 23 years until his retirement.

In his spare time, Nick enjoyed being outdoors; whether it was hunting or fishing which was his favorite pastime. He was also passionate about racing and enjoyed watching them on television, but was also a race car driver for several years at the local tracks. Most importantly, he treasured those times that he could spend with his family and friends.

Nick passed away Friday, October 30, 2009 at the Lake Area Regional Hospital of Osage Beach at the age of 59 years and 4 months.

Nick will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by his son: Daniel Michael and his wife Clarissa of Bruner, MO; one sister: Sue Burch and her husband Jim of Springfield, MO; two brothers: David Michael of Springfield, MO and Tommy Robert Michael and his wife Rosie of Springfield, MO; 2 grandchildren: Corbin and Cora Michael; uncle and aunt: Norman and Marjorie Stoll of Buckhorn, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Nick was preceded in death by his father: William Thomas Michael (1968), mother: Nellie Louise Stoll (2005) and two brothers: William James Michael and John Leland Michael (2009).

Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 6, 2009 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory with Rev. Danny Graves officiating. The songs "In the Garden", "Go Rest High On that Mountain" and"You'll Be There" were played. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory.
