Chad Michael McMeekan 1984-2011

Chad Michael McMeekan, of Dixon, was born on December 7, 1984, at Herborn, Germany, a son of Bradley Edgar and Diana Lynn (Prine) McMeekan, and departed this life at 3:37 a.m., Saturday morning, November 19, 2011, in the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics, Columbia, from injuries sustained from an automobile accident. Chad had attained the age of 26 years, 11 months and 12 days. 

Chad was a 2003 graduate of Dixon High School and worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for Tacom Engineer Support, Fort Leonard Wood. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, golfing and loved being with his friends.

Those left to mourn the passing of Chad include: his parents, Brad, Sr. and Diana McMeekan, Dixon; his paternal grandparents, Lane and JoAnne McMeekan, Matherville, Illinois; one brother and sister-in-law, Bradley E., Jr. and Casandra McMeekan, Iberia; one sister and brother-in-law, Brandie and Parker Workman, Dixon; nephews, Dalton McMeekan and Lane McMeekan; nieces, Presley McMeekan and Hailee Workman; numerous Uncles and Aunts; and many other relatives and friends.

Chad was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jerry and Mary Prine of Boden, IL.

A memorial service was conducted for Chad at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday evening, November 22, 2011, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Pastor Eugene Hudson, First Assembly of God Church, Crocker, officiating. “If I Die Young”, “Dirt Road Anthem”, “Four Year Strong- One Step At A Time”, and “Don’t You Wanna Stay” were played for the memorial service. Honorary pallbearers for Chad were Brad McMeekan, Jr., Parker Workman, Elliot Lloyd, Joshua Messex, Donnie Kluge, Earl Ellegood, Kirby Snyder, Cody Ray, Tom Harcus, and BJ Bivens.


All arrangements were under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon.
