E. Clark Slawson 1934-2012

E. Clark Slawson was born September 7, 1934, near Iberia, Missouri the son of Everett A. and Clara (McDowell) Slawson and passed away April 25, 2012 in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla, Missouri.

Clark and his wife Linda were married on February 2, 1957 and enjoyed 55 years together. They were blessed with three children, Ronald W. (Dawn) of Leesville, Louisiana; Gary C. (BJ) and Kimberly J. (Jim) Orebaugh of the Waynesville area.

Clark accepted Jesus as his savior and was baptized at the Crocker Christian Church on September 22, 2008.

Clark enjoyed a long and colorful life and before his retirement had been a diesel mechanic for 40 plus years. He loved to fly his own plane and go hunting, but most of all he loved taking his grandson, Jeremy, fishing.

Clark is survived by his wife Linda of the home, his two sons, Ron and Gary and his daughter, Kimberly; two grandsons, Shaun and Jeremy and three great-grandchildren, Emily, Rowan and Jacob Slawson; his brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Glenda (Rosebud) Slawson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were conducted for Clark at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 28, 2012, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker with Bro. Larry Richardson, Crocker Christian Church, officiating.

Interment with military honors was in the Hawkeye Cemetery, near Crocker under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Clark were Shaun Slawson, Jeremy Slawson, John David Boren, Rowland Wall, Chris Adamson and Johnny Adamson. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Burgess and Harold Woody.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Crocker Christian Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
