Roy Mathew “Rex” Monroe 1964-2011

Roy Mathew “Rex” Monroe, 46 of Dixon, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011, near Dixon.
Son of the late Robert James and Betty Ann (McColley) Monroe, Rex was born March 6, 1964 in Arizona. In his early teen years, Rex and his family moved to the Dixon area where he graduated from Dixon High School.

After graduating from high school, Rex began working as a heavy equipment operator. In his spare time, Rex was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Rex will be sadly missed by all those that knew and loved him. He is survived by four children: Rex Monroe of Dixon, MO, Mindy Monroe of Tyler, TX, Brandon Monroe of Rolla, MO and Jon Monroe of Waynesville, MO; six siblings: Rick Monroe and Tina of Nashville, TN, Rodney Monroe and Dee of Bradshaw, TX, Robert Monroe and Diane of California, MO, Debbie Volak of Lake Worth, FL, Malista Anderson and Mitch of Russellville, MO, and Shawn Monroe and Lisa of Jefferson City, MO; two grandchildren: Michael and Mason Monroe; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Rex was preceded in death by one daughter, Roxanne Monroe. 

A memorial gathering was held from 5:00 -7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at the Amazing Grace Fellowship Church in Richland, Missouri. Burial was in the Pisgah Cemetery near Dixon, Missouri. Arrangements were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Rex Monroe and may be left at the funeral home.
