Evelyn Alice (Scott) Goforth (1916-1985)

Evelyn Alice Goforth, of Dixon, was born on July 31, 1916, at Dixon, Missouri, a daughter of John and Flossie Matthews Scott, and departed this life at 9:00 a.m., on Monday morning, October 21, 1985, in the Waynesville Nursing Center.  Mrs. Goforth had attained the age of 69 years, 2 months, and 21 days. 

Mrs. Goforth was united in marriage on December 20, 1941 in St. Louis County to Ralph Woodrow Goforth, and to this union three children were born.

Mrs. Goforth was a member of the First Baptist Church and a former member and Past Worthy Matron of Garnet Chapter Number 283 Order of the Eastern Star, both of Dixon.  She was a partner in publishing the Dixon Pilot Newspaper for all her working life prior to her retirement.

Fond memories of Mrs. Goforth will long be remembered in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Goforth include: two sons, Scott Goforth and Skip Goforth, both of Dixon; her mother, Mrs. Flossie Scott, Colorado Springs, Colorado, formerly of Dixon; one brother, Jess Scott, St. Louis; one sister, Mrs. Wanda Anderson, Colorado Springs, Colorado; two grandsons, Eric Scott Goforth and Joseph Shane Goforth, both of Dixon; and many other relatives and a host of friends.
