Karen Sue (Davis) Starr 1942-2010

Karen Sue Starr, of Crocker, was born on July 8, 1942, in Hancock a daughter of Clark Thomas “Bud” and Minnie Effie (Malone) Davis and departed this life at 12:13 a.m., Monday, January 25, 2010, in the St. John’s Regional Health Center, Springfield. Mrs. Starr had attained the age of 67 years, 6 months and 17 days.
 
Mrs. Starr was united in marriage on July 17, 1982 to John Kenneth Starr who preceded her in death on December 4, 1999. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Victor Johnson in December 1970.
 
Mrs. Starr was a Licensed Practical Nurse. She enjoyed fishing, being outside and with her family.
 
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Starr include: two sons, Raymond Starr, Lebanon and Helmut Starr, St. Louis; one daughter, Jamie Starr, Waynesville; two brothers, C.T. Davis, Jr., Dunlap, Illinois and Steve Davis, Jefferson City; one stepbrother, Glenn Schmidt, Waynesville; two sisters, Doris Jean Sarvis, state of Mississippi and Vickie Fletcher, Minocqua, Wisconsin; two stepsisters, Teresa Thorne, state of Oklahoma and Dorla Claypole, Versailles; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
 
Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Starr at 12 Noon, Saturday, January 30, 2010, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Rev. Steve Davis, pastor of God’s House, Jefferson City, officiating. Ray Campbell sung “He Will” and “Amazing Grace” for the service and was accompanied by guitarist, Jim Williams.
 
Interment will be held at a later date in the Seaton Cemetery, near Dixon.
 
All arrangements were under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon.
