Neva Marie (Ramsey) Hayes 1903-1982

Neva Marie Hayes, of Hayden Route, Dixon was born on October 17, 1903, in the Spring Creek community of Maries County, a daughter of Glen and Anna Pearl Davis Ramsey, and departed this life at 5:10 p.m., on Friday evening, November 12, 1982, at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Hayes had attained the age of 79 years and 25 days.

Mrs. Hayes was united in marriage July 5, 1920, at Lebanon, to Homer Eugene Hayes, and of this union, five children were born. Mr. Hayes preceded his wife in death on March 22, 1961. Mrs. Hayes was also preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Bullock.

A homemaker for all her working life, Mrs. Hayes became a member of the Methodist Church when a young girl.

Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Hayes at 2:00 p.m., on Monday afternoon, November 15, 1982, at the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Bro. Charles L. Pitts, Church of Christ, Dixon officiating. Mrs. Hazel Schierbaum sang “The Old Rugged Cross”, “Amazing Grace”, and “In The garden” for the funeral service and was accompanied by Mrs. Carmen Hauck.

Interment was in the Kenner Cemetery, near Dixon, under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon. Active pallbearers for Mrs. Hayes were Donald Robertson, Hursel Hayes, Randal Hayes, Darrell Hayes, Tom Williams, and J.D. Fritchey. Honorary pallbearers were Rocky Hayes, Michael Hayes, Brad Hayes, Robby Roberson, Trevor Hayes, Jim Williams, and Del Ennis Richards.
