James Dorsey Haley 1900-1984

James Dorsey Haley was born in Bloodland, Missouri on November 23, 1900, the son of James and Elizabeth Miller Haley and passed away in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla on April 30, 1984. He had attained the age of 83 years.

He was united in marriage to Maude Kinnaird on February 20, 1924 and unto this union four daughters and two sons were born. She preceded him in death on December 27, 1978. He later married Amanda Blanton, who survives.

He was a member of the Carpenters local NO. 417 of St. Louis for over 30 years, retiring with the gold card of continuous service.

Funeral services were held in the St. Theresa Catholic Church in Dixon on Thursday morning, May 3, 1984 with Father Rissinger officiating. Burial was in the Palace Cemetery in Place, Missouri. Burial was in the Palace Cemetery in Palace, Missouri.

Serving as pallbearers were Jim amd Greg McGee, Ron Simpson, Jack Haley, Davis Nix and Robbie Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda of the home, two sons, Dorsey of St. Peters and Eugene of Overland, Missouri; four daughters, Thadene Knollmeyer Haley of St. Louis, Bernadine Egerer of St. Charles, Alatha Blankenship of Overland and Janette Conaway of Florissant, Missouri; two stepdaughters, Martha Alexander and Marie Roberson of Dixon; three brothers, Lloyd of House Springs, Lawrence of St. Ann, and Willard of Villa Ridge, Missouri; three sisters, Cora Pinager and Nora Elrod of Jefferson City and Ruth Haley of St. Louis; 24 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, with other relatives and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
