In her spare time, Mary enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, word search puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. She was a very talented seamstress and according to her family she was "a heck of a good cook".

Mary went home to be with her Lord at 1:12 p.m., Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Life Care Center of Waynesville at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 23 days.
