Clyde Melvin Carver 1892-1981

Clyde Melvin Carver, 88, died Wednesday, January 14,1981 at the Kansas Soldier’s Home, Fort Dodge, Kansas.  He was born July 8, 1892 near Crocker, Missouri.

He served in the Navy during World War I.

He married Vivian James March 24,1928 at Yates Center, Kansas.

He worked in the oil fields of Greenwood County, Kansas before transferring to Ellinwood, Kansas in 1941.  He retired from Texaco after 25 years.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian, two daughters, Mrs. Sam (Virginia) Grubb of Ellinwood, Kansas and Mrs. Billy (Luella) Schnurr of Sublette, Kansas.  Nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, William (Bill) Carver.
