He was born July 24, 1934, in Detroit, Mich., son of James Thomas and Ruby Hazel Newcom Berry. He married Mary Ellen Berry.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and a granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mary; four children, Douglas Ray Berry of Thailand, Mary Lou Sullins of Licking, Joel Thomas Berry of Waynesville and Tom Allen Berry of Big Piney; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services were Saturday, Oct. 3, at Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Connie Bell officiating. Burial was in Big Piney (Hopewell) Cemetery.
