Hershel E. Carroll 1940-2005

Hershel E. Carroll, son of the late Leonard Elmer and Zora Mae Carroll, was born June 12, 1940 in Big Piney, Missouri, where he grew up and attended school.

On April 1, 1998, Hershel was united in marriage to Linda Lou Rotherham in Waynesville, Missouri. They shared over twenty years together seven years of marriage and many wonderful memories together.

Hershel was employed with Civil Service on Fort Leonard Wood as a mail clerk and worked there until his retirement after 25 years. He was a hard worker and continued to work even after his retirement.

Hershel enjoyed fishing and hunting, but most importantly loved spending time and doing things with his family. He was always positive and would help anyone that needed help.

Hershel passed away the afternoon of Saturday, June 18, 2005 in the St. John’s Medical Center of Springfield, Missouri at the age of 65 years and 5 days. He will be missed by his family and all his many friends

Hershel will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by his wife, Linda of the home; two sons: Terry Carroll of St. Robert, Missouri and Troy Rice and his wife, Delores of Homedale, Idaho; three daughters: Dawnee Carroll of Big Piney, Missouri, Tanya Woods of St. Robert, Missouri and Tawnya Priest and her husband, David of Lebanon, Maine; one sister: Orpha Wood and her husband, Ewell of Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren; several other relatives and friends.
