Thomas Wade "Tom" Cotton 1952-2003

Thomas Wade "Tom" Cotton, son of Willie Louis and Nannie Mae (Harbour) Cotton was born Dec. 14, 1952 in Ft. Campbell, Ken. Being part of a military family meant that Tom moved quite a bit during his childhood. He moved with his family from Germany to Waynesville where he graduated from high school in 1970. 

Tom was employed for a while at University of Missouri Medical Center - Columbia and was currently employed at Collins & Aikman Company of Columbia. 

Tom was an avid bowler. He volunteered for different organizations, such as the Show Me Games. He enjoyed showing others how to bowl. He was very proud of bowling a 300 game and having his name in the Missouri Bowlers Hall of Fame in St. Louis. 

Tom died the evening of Thurs., Feb. 27, 2003 at University of Missouri Medical Center in Columbia due to injuries sustained in a vehicle accident, having attained the age of 50 years. 

Tom will be sadly missed by his parents: Willie and Nannie Mae Cotton of St. Robert; one sister: Annie Cotton of Germany; one brother: Edward Cotton of Louisville, Kentucky; one nephew: Addison Cotton of Louisville, Kentucky; many other relatives and a host of friends. 

Funeral services were held at 1p.m., Friday, March 7 at Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Pastor William Boone officiating. Scripture was read by Minister Eddie Goodman and a prayer was offered by Minister Terrance Golden. Minister Hubert Quiller provided the music. Serving as escorts were Minister Terrance Golden, Minister Eddie Goodman, Brother Derrick Johnson, Deacon Samuel Steele and Brother Johnny Thompson. 

Burial followed in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel. 

Memorial gifts may be donated to the Cotton Family Scholarship Fund in memory of Thomas Cotton and may be left at the funeral home.
