Delpha Marguerite Cavaness was born July 31, 1925, on a farm near Dry Creek in Pulaski County, Missouri. Delpha was the only daughter, and one of two children born to the union of the late Cecil E. And Alberta Mae (Rigsby) Sanders.

While living in Jefferson City, Delpha worked at McGraw Electric, and later supported the Missouri National Guard Headquarters as an Administrative Clerk. She took great pride in making baby blankets for all her family and friends. Delpha was raised in the Presbyterian faith. For the last several years, she and Kenneth attended the Roby Christian Church where they were baptized. Delpha was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Sedalia.
