Kevin Lewis Cassidy 1965-2006

Kevin Lewis Cassidy, son of Orvil Lewis Cassidy and Evelyn Patsy (Wall) Keen, was born November 8, 1965 in Waynesville, Mo. where he grew up and attended school. While in school, he was very active in track and field athletic events. Kevin was a 1984 graduate of Waynesville High School. After graduation, Kevin enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country faithfully until his medical retirement on February 1, 1992. Kevin enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was hunting or fishing. He also liked to spend time talking to friends on his computer.

 Kevin passed away July 20, 2006 in Springfield, at the age of 40 years. Kevin leaves to cherish his memory his parents: Don and Evelyn Keen of Waynesville; maternal grandmother: Nellie Wall of St. Robert; two sisters: Brenda Adkins of Sunrise Beach, and Judy Cassidy of Overland Park, Kan.; two brothers: Brian Keen of Lebanon, and Mike Keen of San Diego, Calif.; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Orvil Cassidy; grandmother: Ruth Cassidy-Wilhite and two grandfathers: Claude Wall and Leonard Cassidy.

Graveside services with military honors were held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 4, 2006 in Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Danny Graves officiating. Soloist Becky Lercher sang "Peace In The Valley." Serving as escorts were Richard Vogt, Lester Vogt, Brian Keen and George Sanders. Military honors were provided by the United States Navy of Fort Leonard Wood. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Waynesville/St. Robert.
