Ruby Irene (Allen) Patton 1924-2003

Ruby Irene Patton, daughter of Thomas Elmer Allen and Nellie McElree Allen, was born July 23, 1924 in Hawkeye and departed this life July 23, 2003 at her home near Stoutland at the age of seventy-nine years. 

On November 21, 1942 she was united in marriage with Linvil Patton, and to this union was born five children.
At the time of her death, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Richland. 

Ruby was employed with H.D. Lee for eighteen years before retiring. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and spending time with her family and friends. 

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Patton of the home; three sons, Larry Patton and wife Cheryl and Lloyd Patton, all of Stoutland, Tommy Patton and wife Susie of Lebanon; two brothers, Wayne Allen of Lone Jack, Tommy Allen of Richland; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Linvil Patton; one infant daughter, Sharon Kay Patton; and one brother, Lloyd Allen. 

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2003 at Colonial Chapel, Richland, with Dr. Mike Hawkins officiating. Escorts were Andrew Douglas, Mark Patton, Derek Patton, Ashley Douglas, Adam Douglas, Tim Patton, Brent Brown and Amanda Patton. 

Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Thieme-Shadel-Hicks Funeral Service at Colonial Chapel.
