Everett Glen Rowden 1903-1980

Everett Glen Rowden was born on April 20, 1903 at Big Piney, Missouri the son of Charles Melvin and Margaret Arizona (Wilson) Rowden and departed this life on December 23, 1980 at the Rolla Manor Nursing Home in Rolla, Missouri.  He had attained the age of 77 years, 8 months, and 2 days.

He was united in marriage to Gladys Anderson in 1924 and unto this union one son was born.  Gladys preceded him in death in 1932.

He was married to Alba Margaret Butcher on March 7, 1947.

He was in business in the Waynesville area, living here for about 43 years.

Funeral services were held on Friday, December 26, 1980 at 2 p.m. at the Long Moss Williams Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Walton and Lester Sutton officiating.  Burial was in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Long Moss Williams Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were:  Herman Paulette, George Ruckman, Danny Arrington, Charles Rowden, Melvin Rowden, and William J. Rowden.

He is survived by his wife, Alba, of the home, one son, Bill, Waynesville, one stepson, Robert Butcher, Springfield, Missouri, and one foster brother, Howard Derry, DeSoto, Missouri, two grandchildren, Melvin Lee Rowden, Fort Knox, Kentucky, Margaret Arrington, Waynesville, one step-grandson, George Ruckman, two great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, cousins, and friends.
