Sallie M.(Bradford) Bailey 1882-1972

Sallie M.Bailey,daughter of James and Martha Bradford was born Feb 14,1882 in Bloodland,MO and passed away Dec 14,1972 in Pulaski County Memorial Hospital.

She was the oldest of nine children in a family of Pulaski county pioneers.She attended school in Bloodland and Waynesville.She later taught schools in the county for several years.

She was united in marriage to Lester Meade Bailey on Nov.8,1904 and three children,James,Lillian and Florence were born to this union.Florence (Mrs.Clif Bobzien) preceded her in death.

They lived in Bloodland until 1913 when they moved to a farm on the Gasconade River near Pippin Place.In 1920 they moved to Waynesville where she lived for 52yrs.She was a member of Methodist Church,active and faithful as long as her health allowed.

Funeral services were held 2pm Saturday Dec.18,1972 at the United Methodist Church with Rev.William Everdyke officiating.

Burial was in Waynesville Memorial Park with her grandsons acting as escorts.

Survivors are one son,James of Jefferson City; one daughter,Lillian(James)Robertson of Charleston,IL;one sister,Dr.Clara Harding of Springfield;four brothers,Emmett,Glen,John and Bland;six grandsons and eight great-grandchildren.
