Shirley J. Cantrell 1935-1996

Shirley J. Cantrell, 61, Springfield, formerly of the Waynesville area, passed away Thursday, December 5, 1996, in Columbia Hospital South, following a short illness.

She was born in Marshfield on August 19, 1935, to Hubert and Hattie (Bresee) Cantrell. She attended the senior focus program through the Developmental Center of the Ozarks, and was a participant in A Sporting Chance and the Special Olympics.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Gerald Cantrell.

She is survived by three brothers, Robert Cantrell of Springfield, Ronald Cantrell of Riverview, Florida, and Hubert Cantrell of Houston, Texas; a host of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9, 1996, in Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home with a graveside service following at 1:30 p.m. in Waynesville Memorial Cemetery, Waynesville.

Visitation was from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, December 8, 1996, in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions were made to A Sporting Chance or The Springfield Boys and Girls Club.
