Mrs. Schwein was preceded in death by her husband, Doyl Holtsman; her parents; one daughter, Martha Neuman; three sisters, Lola Allee, Venice Myers and Velma Crozier; one grandson, Steve Neuman and two granddaughters, Sharon and Karen Neuman.
Mrs. Schwein had attended the Curry Methodist Church, Iberia and was baptized early in life in the Tavern Creek, near Iberia. She had been a fry cook at Fort Leonard Wood and had also worked in housekeeping, as well as being a housewife and homemaker, always diligent in providing for the needs of her family. She enjoyed gardening, canning, working in the yard, quilting, and was an excellent seamstress.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Schwein include: one daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Lloyd Griffin, Statham, Georgia; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; seventeen great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were conducted for Mrs. Schwein at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 1, 2009, in the Zion Cemetery near Crocker. Two poems written by Dorothy Griffin were read for the service by granddaughter, Pamela Burgess.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Schwein were her grandsons, Alex Neuman, Pat Neuman, Rod Neuman, Mike Neuman, Matt Noblin and Jody Burgess.
All arrangements were under the direction of the Long Funeral Home, Crocker.
