Katie Frances (Shackelfurd) Dillon 1949-2006

Katie Frances Dillon Passed away at her home in rural St. James, Missouri on August 3, 2006. She was 57 years, 2 months and 22 days of age.

Katie was born on May 12, 1949 at Waynesville, Missouri to her parents. On August 3, 1968 Katie was united in marriage to Walter Dillon at Rolla, Missouri.

Katie worked for a telephone company; Sears; and Walmart for 14 years. Katie and Walter owned and operated K & W Dillon Trucking & Clay Mining. Katie enjoyed fishing anytime and anyplace. She also loved to deer hunt and bowling. She was a very hard worker and very intelligent. She was a role model for her sisters but was also a tomboy, very opinionated, strong willed, stubborn, and tough, but also a very fair person. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Katie is survived by her husband of the home: Walter Dillon of St. James, Missouri; one son: Jefftery Hoffman of St. James, Missouri; one daughter: Stacey Dillon of Rolla, Missouri; mother: Fern (Doyel) Shackelfurd of Rolla, Missouri; brother: Chuck Shackelfurd and wife Vickie of Rolla, Missouri; two sisters: Donna Jones and husband Carl of St. James, Missouri; and Corky Humphrey and husband Donnie of Rolla, Missouri; 2 grandchildren: Christopher Hoffman and Shane Stotler and a host of relatives and friends. Katie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Preceding Katie in death is her father: Charles Shackelfurd Sr.

Services
Visitation will be Saturday, August 5, 2006 from 4 - 8 PM at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 6, 2006 at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri with Reverend Richard Miller officiating. Old Rugged Cross and In The Garden will be sung by Lori Garver, Vocalist. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or American Lung Association.

All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
