Setsuko “Miki” (Okubo) Derry 1923-2009

Setsuko “Miki” Derry, 86, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Dixon, died May 24, 2009, in Houston, Texas. She was born January 6, 1923, in Nagasake-ken, Japan to the union of Masaneby and Shizume Okubo.

Miki was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Ray A. Derry, in 1999 and her parents.

Miki was a member of the First Baptist Church, Dixon and a loving wife and mother, who dedicated her life to caring for her family.

Miki is survived by her son, Jon D. Derry and granddaughter, Layla Lincoln, as well as a large extended family in Japan.

Graveside memorial services for Miki will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 13, 2009, in the Dixon Cemetery, with Rev. Brandon McCombs, First Baptist Church, officiating.
