Violet Loraine (Anderson) Collins 1940-2011

Violet Loraine Collins, 70 of Springfield, passed away Saturday morning, July 30, 2011, at her home.

Daughter of the late Leslie and Ethel (Woods) Anderson, Violet was born October 9, 1940, in the community of Hanna, Missouri, in Pulaski County.

On February 6, 1960, Violet married Charles Leclair Collins, and they shared two children, Terry and Charlene.

Violet was employed with the Wal-Mart company for 24 years. She enjoyed family gatherings, traveling in her R.V., and going to gospel music concerts. Violet had a deep, abiding faith in her Lord, Jesus Christ, and attended church in Falcon, Fairview, Laquey and Richland.

Mrs. Collins is survived by her husband: Charles; two children: Terry Collins (Carol) of Waynesville and Charlene "Shelly" Cherner (Gary), Atlanta, Georgia; six siblings: Lindell Anderson, Ft. Worth, Texas, William "Bill" Anderson, Ozark, Evelyn Crossland, Springfield, Vera Rinck, Doolittle, Marilyn Anderson of the state of Montana and Joyce Blankenship of Laquey; four grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 1, at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, Springfield, under direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory, Waynesville/St. Robert.

Visitation will also be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 2, at Memorial Chapels and Crematory, Waynesville/St. Robert.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 3, at Memorial Chapels and Crematory. Burial will follow in Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
