Phyllis Jean (McKinnon) Patterson 1948-2006

Phyllis Jean McKinnon was born April 10, 1948 in Waynesville, Missouri. She was one of four children born to the union of the late Delmar Lee and Julia Mae (James) McKinnon.

"Jeanie, as she was affectionately known to her family and friends, grew up and attended school in Waynesville.

On February 5, 1965, Jeanie was united in marriage with Rodney Patterson, Jr., and to this union three sons were born, Adam, Paul and James Richard. James Richard lived only a few hours.

Jeanie worked for a while as a ticket agent at the old Waynesville Bus Station. She later attended cosmetology school in Rolla to become a hairdresser. Jeanie grew beautiful flowers, was a true animal lover and a talented guitarist. She even wrote a few songs of her own.

On July 16, 1972, Jeanie accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was baptized in the First Baptist Church of Waynesville.

Jeanie departed this life April 29, 2006 at her home in St. Robert, Missouri, at the age of 58 years and 18 days.

She will be very sadly missed by her sons: Adam and Paul Patterson and their father: Rodney Patterson, Jr. all of St. Robert; one brother: Delmar "Bo McKinnon, Jr. of Richland; one sister: Faye Hammock of St. Robert; four grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends, including her cat, Simon.

In addition to her parents and her infant son, Jeanie was preceded in death by one brother: Donnie McKinnon

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 3, 2006 in the Memorial Chapel of Waynesville/St. Robert with Rev. Danny Graves officiating. The songs "In The Garden" and "Peace In The Valley" were played. Serving as escorts were Danny, Gary, Mark and Nathan Hammock, Billy Higginbotham, Larry and Richard Kelley.

Burial followed in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Waynesville/St. Robert.
