Edith Frances (McKinnon) Ray 1914-2007

Edith Frances Ray, one of six children born to the union of the late Henry and Ella (Clark) McKinnon, was born March 2, 1914 in Pulaski County, Missouri.
She departed this life the morning of September 5, 2007 at her home in Nixa, Missouri, at the age of 93 years, 6 months and 3 days.
On December 27, 1932 in Waynesville, Edith was united in marriage with Jess Lilbert. Edith and Jess were blessed with one daughter, Opal. Jess preceded Edith in death on September 6, 1984.
Edith dedicated her life to the love and care of her family. She was a wonderful seamstress, enjoyed fishing and always had a large garden.
In 1995, Edith moved to Richland where she was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. In September, 2005 she moved to Nixa where she made her home until her passing.
Edith was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by her daughter: Opal Thompson of Nixa; her sister: Grace Helms of Crocker along with several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Edith was also preceded in death by an infant sister and four brothers: Louie, Arthur and Everett McKinnon and Robert Tebault.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 7 at Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Rev. James Routh officiating. Pianist, David Lawson accompanied Laura Milner as she sang, "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art." Family and friends served as escorts.
Burial followed in Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.
