Lewis Henry Bade 1903-1980

Lewis Henry Bade, of Route 1, Vienna was born June 21, 1903 in Maries County, the son of Henry and Minnie McMinn Bade, and departed this life on Wednesday afternoon, December 31, 1980 at the Rolla Manor Care Nursing Center, Rolla, following a lengthy illness.  He had attained the age of 77 years, six months and ten days.

Mr. Bade was united in marriage on June 14, 1922 at Vienna, to the former Miss Eunie Isabelle Copeland, and to this union, four children were born.

A retired farmer, Mr. Bade was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning, January 3, 1981 at the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Chapel, Vienna, with the Rev. Sean Smyth, Visitation Catholic Church, officiating.

Interment was in the Vienna Cemetery under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home.

Pallbearers for Mr. Bade were Bill Thompson, Michael Thompson, Karl Bade, Bernard Bade, Leonard Bade, Jr., John Bade, Donnie Bade and Muriel Copeland.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Bade include: His wife, Mrs. Eunie Bade, Route 1, Vienna; three sons, Leonard Loyd Bade, Rolla and Virgil Lee Bade and Raymond Gene Bade, both of Vienna; one daughter, Mrs. Genevieve Thompson, Vienna; two brothers, Joseph Bade and Leonard Bade, both of Vienna; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Laney, Rolla and Mrs. Arminta O’Halloran, Viena; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
