Millie Ann (Blanton) Wilson 1861-1945

Mrs. Millie Wilson, widow of the late James H. Wilson, prominent stock man in Miller County for many years, passed away at her home in Eldon Thursday afternoon following a short illness. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 3:00 at the Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. A.L.
Alexander conducting the service. Burial was made in the Hopewell Cemetery.

Millie Ann Blanton was born in Maries County, Mo., August 14, 1861, and departed this life June 14, 1945, at the age of 83 years and 10 months. In 1878 she was united in marriage to James H. Wilson and to them seven children were born, one child passing away in infancy, and a daughter,
Ollie Lee, passed away in 1927. Her husband preceded her in death May 22, 1942.

Surviving are two sons and three daughters, Mrs. Mary Daniel of Piedmont, Mo., Fred Wilson of Long Beach, Calif., Elmer Wilson, Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. Ethel Martin of St. Louis, and Mrs. Dixie Bruffy of Eldon. She also leaves 23 grandchildren, one brother and one sister, Dan Blanton of Chilhowee, and Mrs. Leona Messersmith of Union.

  1. Mrs. Dixie Bruffy is my maternal grandmother. Her daughter, my mother, Rosella Louise Simpson, is 100 years old and still doing well! Unfortunately, grandmother Dixie died when I was only 6 months old in 1951. Darlene Simpson at HotSpringsDarlene@gmail.com.
