Edna W. Morris 1906-1980

Edna W. Morris,74, was born in the state of Iowa on March 6, 1906, and passed away Sunday evening, November 30, 1980 at her home in Grandview Beach Resort, near Warsaw,

She grew up in Iowa and on November 26, 1939, she was united in marriage to Guy C. Morris.

Following their marriage they made their home in Kansas City, Missouri where she worked in the children’s ward of Children’s Mercy Hospital.  In 1947, they moved to Dallas, Texas where they lived until 1965.  At that time they moved to Waynesville, Missouri, and later to their home at Grandview Beach in 1974.

She was a member of the Hickory Hills Baptist Church of Waynesville, Missouri.

She is survived by her husband, Guy, of the home; two daughters, Margueritte Gee of Dallas, Texas and Dorothy Duley of Huntsville, Missouri; one son, Jim Morris of Kansas City, Missouri; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Lena McGuire of Waynesville, Missouri, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Edna Morris were held Wednesday afternoon, December 3, 1980 at 1:30 p.m. at the Reser Chapel with the Rev. Calvin Eason officiating.  Pallbearers were: Jake Bodenhamer, Virgil Bradley, Marshall Blair, Don Amey, and Robert Bradford.  Burial was in the Shawnee Cemetery.
