Elzina Vogt 1889-1958

Elzina Vogt was born in Douglas County near Ava, on March 1, 1889 and died at the Waynesville General Hospital Tuesday, May 6, 1958 at the age of 69 years past.

On February 15, 1906 she was united in marriage to Harvey William Vogt. To this union nine children were born. They moved to the Waynesville community in 1937 and have lived here since. Two years ago she had a heart attack and had been in failing health since.

Left to mourn her departure are her very devoted husband: Harvey W. of the home; two daughters: Mrs. Kenneth Davis and Mrs. Marie Vogt of Waynesville; three sons: Alvin L. of the state of California, Cleve S. and Thomas L. of Waynesville; a sister, Mrs. Ida Lee of Reeds, Missouri, 20 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and a number of other relatives and friends.

At the age of 18 she was converted, baptized and united with a Baptist church in Douglas County, and has held true to her faith all her life. She was a kind and loving wife and mother, and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 8 at 10:00 a.m. at the Waynesville Baptist church with Rev. B.R. Tatom officiating. Burial was in Gasper Ridge cemetery near Waynesville.

Pallbearers were Howard, Edgar, and Delmar McKinnon and Jonniey and Mert Ray.
