Mary Edna Baker 1902-1984

Mary Edna Baker, 81, Florida Baptist Retirement Center, 1006 33rd Street, Vero Beach, died February 11, 1984 at her residence.

She was born August 11, 1902 in Canton, Ohio, and had been a resident of Indian River County for the past 19 years, moving to Vero Beach from Richland, Missouri.

Mr. & Mrs. Baker were the owners of Baker’s Pharmacy in Richland for 21 years prior to their retirement.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vero Beach and was a Sunday School teacher there for 19 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her husband, Fred E. Baker of Vero Beach; two sons, Fred E. Baker Jr. of Vero Beach and George L. Baker of Evansville, Indiana; one sister, Birdie Grant of Vero Beach; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services were February 13 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Vero Beach, with the Rev. Dr. J. Charmes Holmes, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment in Crestlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions were made to the First Baptist Church Bus Fund, 2206 16th Ave., Vero Beach, FLA.
