Bobby Lee Quesenberry 1932-2012

Bobby Lee Quesenberry, son of Snowden and Leta (Anderson) Quesenberry, was born November 12, 1932 in Bloodland, Missouri. As a young boy, Bobby attended school at Fairview and Cave Springs. He later attended North Bend, Oregon, and Richland High School until the 11th grade. He then graduated from Roosevelt High School.

As a teenager, Bobby made a profession of faith and became a member of Fairview Baptist Church in 1948. In later years, he became a member of Idumea Baptist Church and then began attending New Friendship Baptist Church. They were very faithful to attend as long as their health permitted.

In 1949, Bobby began working at Forest Hills Golf Course in St. Louis as a grounds maintenance man. He continued there until 1961 when he became a contract painter. After moving to the Fort Leonard Wood area, Bobby began in October 1965 as a ground maintenance man on Fort Leonard Wood. He continued his work there until 1985 when he had a stroke and retired due to medical reasons.

On October 26, 1986, Bobby was united in marriage to Donna Louise Carter in Richland, Missouri. They shared over 25 years of marriage together and many wonderful memories.

In his spare time, Bobby enjoyed being outdoors while hunting and fishing. He also had quite a collection of arrowheads and was always looking for more. Bobby was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Richland and also served as a board member of the Laquey School District and the Fairview Cemetery Board.

Bobby went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, April 26, 2012 in his home, after a long and courageous battle with cancer having attained the age of 79 years, 5 months and 14 days. He will be sadly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Bobby leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Donna of the home; four children Linda Scott (Robert) of Waynesville Mo, Janice Adams (Brian) of Waynesville, Mo, Mark Quesenberry of Richland, Mo. and Kelly York (Joe) of Laquey, Mo; three step-children Rhonda Pool (Steven) of Laquey, Mo, Gayle Bivens (Earl) of Laquey, Mo, Dianne Guinn (David) Warsaw, Mo; two sisters Rosemary McKinstrey of Waynesville, Mo. and Ruth Close of Kansas City, Mo; 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Snowden Quesenberry (1997), Mother Leta Hammock Quesenberry (2007); two infant twin sisters: Zora and Zella Quesenberry and one son: Snowden Brian Quesenberry (1957).

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 30, 2012 in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Bro. Gary Humphrey officiating. Soloist, Becky Lercher sang "Unclouded Day", "To God Be The Glory" and "God Will Take Care of You". Serving as pallbearers were Joe York, Nicolas York, Eddie Wilson, Jediah York, Brian Adams and Steve Pool. Honorary escorts included Earl Bivens, Thomas Wilson, Mark Quesenberry, Bob Scott and David Guinn. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery, Laquey, Missouri. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland.
