Mary Lucille (Thompson) Orebaugh 1920-2006

Mary Lucille Orebaugh, sixth child of Reuben Franklin and Ivy May Thompson, was born April 21, 1920 in Hoisington, Kansas where she grew up and attended school.

On April 8, 1939, Mary was united in marriage to Lloyd (Bud) Orebaugh. They were blessed with three children, Jim, Marty and Renee.

Mary confessed her belief in Jesus Christ and was baptized at an early age. She was a life long member of the First Christian Church of Great Bend, Kansas. She was a loving person, completely devoted to her family, whether near or far.

Mary went home to be with her Lord at 2:35 P.M. Wednesday, October 18, 2006 in the Richland Care Center of Richland, Missouri at the age of 86 years, 5 months and 27 days.

She will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by one son: Jim Orebaugh and his wife, Kimberly of Waynesville, Missouri; two daughters: Marty Roark and her husband, Guy of Las Vegas, Nevada and Renee Evans and her husband, Rodney of Richland, Missouri; two sisters: Millie Penney of North Carolina and Donna Warren of Rozell, Kansas; two brothers: Gordon and Raymond Thompson, both of Wichita, Kansas; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; several nieces, nephews, numerous relatives and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters and her husband. She will be sadly missed by all whose lives she touched.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 22, 2006 in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Rev. Dwain Carter officiating. The songs "Old Rugged Cross", "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art" were played. Mary's daughter Marty Roark sang "On Eagle's Wings" and gave a lovely eulogy. Serving as escorts were Bill Comte, Rick Hobbs, Doug Ogle, Chris Olson, Jeremy Slawson and Hondo Wooten.

Burial followed in the Oaklawn Cemetery of Richland. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland.
