Walter Eugene Clark 1927-2006

Walter Eugene Clark, of Waynesville, MO, died Sunday morning, February 5, 2006 at the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital, Fort Leonard Wood, MO, at the age of 78 years, 5 months and 15 days.

Walter was born August 21, 1927 at Hazelgreen, MO in Pulaski County. He was one of five children born to the union of the late Lester H. and Ruby Carmen (King) Clark Doty.

On August 21, 1946, Walter was united in marriage with Kathleen Pruitt and to this union, two sons were born, Donald and Douglas. Both Kathleen and their son, Donald preceded Walter in death.

Walter attended Waynesville schools and was a member of First Baptist Church. He managed his own rental property and heavy equipment businesses for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and running his heavy equipment.

Walter will be sadly missed by his son: Douglas L. Clark of Kansas City, MO; two brothers: Donald L. Clark and his wife, Shirley of Lebanon, MO and Gary Clark of Laquey, MO; three nephews: Larry Williams, Mike Clark and Larry Clark; three nieces: Debbie Pendleton, Iris Barnhart and Sherri Hammock, along with several other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, his wife, and his son, Walter was also preceded in death by one sister: Vera Williams and two brothers: Beauford and Gilbert.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 7, 2006 in the Memorial Chapel of Waynesville with Rev. Danny Graves officiating. Soloist Becky Lercher sang "Down At The Cross" and "The Way of the Cross Leads Home". Serving as escorts were family and friends.

Burial followed in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Waynesville/St. Robert.
