William Nelson Anderson 1923-2009

William Nelson Anderson, 86, of Lebanon, died Saturday, July 25, 2009, at his home in Lebanon.

He was born June 14, 1923, at Hanna, Mo. to Orville Preston Anderson and Lavada Frances Hammock, who preceded him in death.

He also was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Rev. David Biggs; three sisters, Leta Quesenberry, Mary Belton and Opal Anderson, also five brothers, Leslie, Roscoe, Kermit, Harry and Glen Anderson.

On March 22, 1946, he married Irene "Flo" Long.

He was a retired truck driver for Wilson Freight Lines and served in the United States Army for three years.

He was a faithful and active member of the Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include his wife, Irene; two sons, Bill Anderson and his wife, Kathy, of Waynesville; Harry Anderson and his wife, Natalie, of St. Clair; three daughters, Sandy Biggs, of Metairie, La.; Shera Storie and her husband, Charlie, of Waynesville and Debbie Anderson, of Lebanon; a sister, Ruth Goodrich, of Waynesville; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Services for William Nelson Anderson will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at Shadel's Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Paul Womack officiating.

Burial will be in Waynesville Memorial Park under the direction of Shadel's Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. Weather permitting, he will be transported to Waynesville Memorial Park in his 1986 Dodge Pickup.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral chapel.

A memorial has been established to St. John's Hospice in Lebanon.
