Ada Anna (Page) Helton 1888-1977

Ada Anna Helton, daughter of Benjamin F. and Charity Dye Page, was born May 26, 1888 at Big Piney, Missouri. She passed away September 20, 1977 at the Pulaski County Hospital at the age of 89.

On March 24, 1907, Anna was united in marriage to Newman Helton, who preceded her in death October 15, 1951 and to this union four daughters were born: Mrs. Mary Breeden and Mrs. Jeretta Laughlin of Waynesville, Missouri; Mrs. Anna Jean Hendershot of Jefferson City, Missouri; and Mrs. Betty Jerabek of Waynesville, Missouri.

Anna was saved and joined the Baptist Church at an early age. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waynesville. Survivors include her 4 daughters, two sisters, Mrs. Emma Hicks of Waynesville, and Mrs. Retta Moore of St. Louis, Missouri, 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Two grandchildren and two great grandchildren preceded her in death. At the time of her death there were five generations three times in her family---represented by three different families.

Anna will be sadly missed by her family.

We wander home as time glideth by,
And weaveth its garlands of years,
But that home over there is better, by far,
Than this one in the Valley Tears

Funeral services were held at the Long Moss Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesville, at 2:00 p.m. Sept 22 with Rev J.W. Brewer, rev. Richard Breeden, and Rev. Wilber Harbaugh officiating. Burial was in the Crocker Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Claude Laughlin, Jim Laughlin, Frank Breeden, Richard Breeden, Brent Garzelli, and Vance Barnes. Honorary Pallbearers were: Great Grandsons and Great-Great Grandsons.
