Claude J. Scott 1911-1984

Claude J. Scott, son of William G. and Nora Clayton Scott, was born March 6, 1911 in Dade County, Missouri and passed away March 3, 1984, at his home in Richland, Missouri, as a result of a lengthy illness.

On September 23, 1933, he was united in marriage with Josephine Harper, and this union was born three children, all surviving.

He was a farmer and dealt in Walnut Timber prior to moving to Richland in 1950, where he was involved in sales until his retirement in 1975.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Everton, Missouri, prior to his moving to Richland, where he was a member of the First Baptist of Richland.

He is survived by his wife Jo of the home; one son, C.W. Scott, Jr., of Booneville, Missouri; two daughters, Jo Ann Woody of Conway, Missouri; and Kay Jones of Montreal, Missouri; two grandsons, eight granddaughters, and five great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother, who died the date of his birth, and by his father.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Services were held Tuesday, March 6, 1984 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Marshall officiating.

Music was provided by Dwight Roam, soloist, and Sharon Gundram, organist.

Escorts were: Gary Brown, Bill Burd, Robert Howlett, Jim Mitchell, Jerry Warner, and Jack Tucker. Burial was in the Ray Spring Cemetery in Everton, Missouri, under the direction of Colonial Funeral Chapel of Richland, Missouri.
