Dorsey Brian Scott 1900-1957

Dorsey Brian Scott, son of Benjamin and Ethel Scott, was born near Waynesville on August 12, 1900 and passed away at his home in Richland on May 31, 1957 at the age of 56 years. For the past three months he had been under a doctor’s care.

On November 12, 1932 he was married to Mildred Hudgens, and to this union seven children were born.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred, four daughters, Jean Quesenberry of St. Louis, Beulah York of Richland, and Mary and Joyce of the home; three sons:
Dorsey Junior, Harvey and William of the home; one brother, wayne of Mt. Vernon; sis sisters: Mabel Ferguson, Lulu Guyott and Cella Hines, all of St. Louis, Myrtle Hubenthaw of Malden, Missouri, Lucille Williams and Velma Prescott of the State of California; four grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

He was not a member of any church but no one read the Bible any more devoutly or believed in it as he did. He was a kind and loving husband and father, and will be sadly missed.

Funeral services were held at the Richland Methodist Church Monday, June 3 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Lindell Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Dixon cemetery at Dixon under direction of the Hedges Funeral Home of Richland.

Pallbearers were Earl Hubenthaw, Lloyd Ferguson, Snowden Quesenberry, Bobby Quesenberry, Dorsey Scott, Jr., and Homer Hudgens.

Honorary pallbearers were friends from St. Robert: Luther Blair, Kenny Smith, Herman Paulette, Bill Davis, Lee Goodman and P.R. Lynch.
