Eunice Esther (Riddle)Sooter 1914-2008

Eunice Esther Sooter, of Rolla, formerly of Dixon, was born on
November 15, 1914, at Dixon, a daughter of George Samuel and Esther
Lillian (Richardson) Riddle and passed away Sunday, September 14, 2008,
in the Rolla Manor Care Center, Rolla, Missouri at the age of 93 years,
9 months and 29 days.
Eunice was united in marriage by C. W. Sooter, on May 17, 1934, at Dixon,
Missouri to Dorsie Virgil Sooter.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Dixon, Missouri since
March 16, 1952 and was baptized on March 19, 1952. She had worked as a
clerk at the Western Auto Store, Dixon, Missouri for a number of years as
well as being a homemaker. She loved gardening, watching the St. Louis
Cardinals and was just an all around baseball fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband on October 24, 1993; an infant
daughter, Eunice Esther Sooter on April 8, 1938; her father on
August 5, 1972; her mother on July 27, 1958; two brothers, Chester Riddle
and Luther Riddle on April 11, 1988.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and Dorothy Sooter
and Robert and Sharon Kay Sooter, all of Rolla, Missouri; one daughter and
son-in-law, Barbara and John Wessner, Rolla, Missouri; seven grandchildren,
Luther Sooter, Janice Turner, Traci Sooter, Dana Booker, Robyn Sooter, Erin
Campbell and Shannon Redford; 12 great grandchildren, Carmen Schott, Luther Dean Sooter, Trevor Paul Turner, Chelsea Vieceli, Sara Lowe, Rachael Lowe, Thomas Booker, Samuel Booker, Brooke Ellen Campbell, Tyler Mason Redford, Dillon James Campbell and Samantha Elizabeth Redford; one great great granddaughter, Isabella Marie Schott; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2008, in the Dixon
Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes with Pastor Brandon McCombs,
First Baptist Church, Dixon, Missouri officiating.
Two favorite hymns, “In The Garden” and “Amazing Grace” were played for the funeral service.
Interment was in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of the Dixon Chapel
of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
Pallbearers were Luther Sooter, Paul Turner, James Booker, Donnie Campbell,
Brent Redford, Trevor Turner, Luther Dean Sooter II, Rick Schott and Luther
Riddle.
