Frederick Major Firestine 1901-1974

Frederick Major Firestine, son of Jerome and Anna Belle Coogan Firestine was born in Bloodland, Missouri on February 23, 1901 and departed this life on October 29, 1974 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Claton, Missouri following a lingering illness after having the age of 73 years past.

Survivors include four sons: Harry Lloyd and family of Hoffman Estates, Illinois, Charles Franklin and family of Webster Groves, Missouri, Johnathan Wesley and family of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, and Frederick Eugene of Gardena, California. One daughter Minnie Belle Brown and family of Porter, Texas, fourteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Tow sisters: Myrtle Walker of Ceres, California, and Meda McGlaughlin of Mt. Groves, Missouri. One brother: John Firestine of Waynesville, Missouri and other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to friends for their loving kindness and consideration during our sorrow.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Nov, 2nd, 1974 at the Hopewell Baptist Church in Big Piney, Missouri, with interment in the Big Piney Cemetery, with Rev. Marvin Davis officiating. Pallbearers were: Curran Snodgrass, Dale Sanders, Clyde Welch, Vernon Welch, Wayne Firestine, and Simon Gilbert.
