Johnny Paul Stevens 1962-1984

Johnny Paul Stevens was born on September 23, 1962 in Waynesboro, Tennessee, and departed this life on June 29, 1984 in Richland, Missouri.

He was united in marriage to Kathleen Ann Gillmore on August 30, 1980, and to this union was born one son, who survives.

Johnny attended and graduated from Richland High School in 1980. He then served in the U.S. Army from 1980 until 1983 in the Accounting department and was an Aviation Supply Specialist, achieving the rank of E-4.

In 1976 he was baptized and became a member of the First Christian Church in Richland.

Those surviving are his wife, Kathleen of the home; one son Michael of the home; his parents, Bob and Sonja Evans of Richland; one sister Julie Elizabeth Hall of Moberly, Missouri; one brother Bennie Ray Stevens of Drasco, Arkansas; half brothers, Eddie Stevens, Jr., B.J. Stevens, half sister Stacy Ann Stevens, Step Brothers, Rodney Evans of Richland, Missouri, Dennis Evans, of Hawaii, Kenneth and Terry Evans of Ft. Worth, Texas; his father, Edward Ray Stevens of Wiener, Arkansas; Grandmothers Bessie Lewellyn of Pulaski, Tennessee; and Lucy Evans of Richland.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Paul B. Lewellen, and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Stevens.

Services for Johnny Paul Stevens were held at Colonial Funeral Chapel 1:30 p.m., Sunday, July 1, 1984. Officiating at the services was John Davenport. Music was provided by Marcia Shadel. Burial was in the Oaklawn Cemetery. Escorts were Billy Hankins, Ricky Gillmore, Rick York, Ronnie Wright, William West, and Gene Moore. Honorary escort was Scott McKeag. Under direction of Colonial Funeral Chapel of Richland, Missouri.
