She was married to Ernest Clyde Hicks on Easter Sunday, 1916. To this union three children were born. Most of the balance of her life was spent in Pulaski County, with the exception of the last ten years which were spent in Springfield. Her husband preceded her in death, having died June 25, 1937.
She was an active member of the Methodist Church and devoted much time and effort to USO work and Gray Ladies.

MRS. MARY ZULA HICKS
Mrs. Mary Zula Hicks, 60, a resident here the past 10 years, died at 1:50 p.m. Sunday in the Kimbrough Rest Home following a lingering illness.
Surviving are two sons, Eugene of Tulsa, and Brother Benedict Joseph Hicks of Conception Abbey, Conception, Mo.; one daughter, Mrs. H.J. Anderson of Glenview, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. T.E. Turpin of Jefferson City, and Mrs. Lelia Hensley of St. Louis.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Waynesville Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Mitchell Cemetery at Waynesville with Herman Lohmeyer in charge.
